Abstract
This article examines nocturnality in the public space of the Historic Center of Mexicali, a border city in northwestern Mexico, from an embodied perspective. Nocturnality is approached as a relational process that reorganizes urban experience perceptually and through bodily dispositions. Based on embodied walks conducted during the transition between day and night, the article analyzes situated variations in environmental perception in relation to spatial conditions, presences, and bodily dispositions. As a result, it outlines an approach to affective thresholds of nocturnality and a typology aimed at describing transitions in border nocturnal experience within public space.
