Abstract
In order to know and analyze the state of the art regarding the scientific production of political tourism, scientific documents are identified, systematized, characterized and analyzed that address the relationship between armed movements, conflict, post-conflict and tourism. The search is carried out in different international databases, resulting in more than a hundred documents in full text. The analysis made allows us to recognize the processes of social and armed conflict that have lived through different places as a result of authoritarianism, organized crime and corruption, which in the end have given rise to a type of visitor who, after the conflicts, moves towards them with the intention to get involved not only tourism, but socially in the daily activities of the community and their aspirations in the establishment of autonomous governments. Among the main results emerges a category of visitor called political tourism, as an agent aware of the needs, opportunities, and challenges that its presence imposes in these communities, as well as that of a social and tourist activist that affects the socio-economic regeneration of the site visited and in its autonomous and local development.
