Abstract
We conducted a virtual ethnographic approach. We set out to understand the conformation of pediatrician medical knowledge about breastfeeding. There is a conflict of interest, since the medical personnel have contact with the industry since the first semesters, shaping their knowledge. We recognize the existence of the medical lineage, where over the generations academic knowledge replaces popular knowledge, which causes a conflict between knowledge by providing guidance to mothers and families. We call for training in health sciences with a cultural sense and for the visibility of knowledge beyond academics.
